Welcome to the Red Oak Website!
A new church has come to Marietta, with a new attitude!
Every Sunday, we join together in worshiping God, considering His Word, and encouraging each other. We worship the Lord joyously, and the Bible is presented in a clear, “expository” manner every week. When the church service is over, many Sundays we’ll “hang out” together over a meal. Believing as we do that Christian faith is meant to be lived in the context of significant relationships, we provide opportunities on Sundays, and at other times of the week in our FLOCKs, for people to get to know one another, to encourage, support, and challenge one another, in their relationships with God.
What do you mean by “Face-to-Face Faith”?
You know how, in most churches, everybody spends the majority of the service looking to the front, and almost no time interacting with people seated around them? Oh, we’ve been in plenty of churches, and there’s sometimes the obligatory handshake, but beyond that?
Usually, not much. Our philosophy is a little bit different at Red Oak. Theologically, we understand that the Holy Spirit lives in every follower of Jesus Christ, and that the Spirit uses us to minister to each other. Practically, we live in a world in which people increasingly feel alienated from each other. And so what we do is to build interactivity into what we do on Sunday mornings. We meet around round tables, spend some time each Sunday connecting with each other, not only before and after the worship service, but actually during the service as well! It’s different, sure…but it’s proving to be a difference that lots of folks like. We’d love to see you come and worship with us some Sunday soon–face-to-face!
